How it works

From first call to final decree

The same six steps for almost every case. You'll always know which one you're on.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Book an hour

Call or send the form. We meet in the office or by video, and you pay the consultation fee for the hour.

  2. 02

Step 2: Get the price in writing

Before you leave, you know which package fits and what it costs. Take a few days to decide.

  3. 03

Step 3: Sign and pay half

The engagement letter lists the work, the fee and what isn't included. Half the fee is due on signing.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Gather the papers

I send a checklist: tax returns, pay stubs, account statements, the children's schedule.

  5. 05

    Step 5: File and wait

I draft and file everything. Most courts set a waiting period, and we use it to finish the agreement.

  6. 06

    Step 6: Decree, and after

The judge signs. If something changes later, you can call me, and a change to the order gets a written quote first.

Between steps

You'll hear from me every two weeks

Even when nothing has moved, you get a short note saying so, and what's next.

Waiting is the hardest part of a family case. A short, regular update means you're never left wondering whether something was filed or whether the court has answered. Calls and emails in between are part of the fee.

Book a consultation and you'll leave with the price and the next step written down.
